The I.c. D’Aosta Ottaviano designed and implemented a hippotherapy programme for its pupils to promote inclusion among other values in the context of the common Erasmus+KA210 Project “Creating and Designing the Inclusive School of our Dreams” run by the two schools. The programme is titled “Cavallo,Amico” and below, you can find detailed videos of the activities the pupils participated in.

Equestrian activity carried out during developmental age is recommended to correct wrong posture. It has psychomotor value with particular regard to the harmonization of various aspects of the personality and to better self-awareness of one’s body and its potential. The project we carried out has a general aim: the development of autonomy and relational skills through horseback riding activities in a group or individually, with socio-educational, recreational-sports purposes and above all inclusion. Significant benefits have been seen in pupils with autism spectrum syndrome, learning and behavioral disorders. The project finalized its intervention in improving the psycho-physical well-being and also the integration and inclusion of the participants, with the aim of encouraging cooperation between peers and refining knowledge of the animal world.
